Two Heat Containment Applications with Photos
Insulated curtain walls are a great solution for heat containment. Some common applications include:
- Isolating heat-generating production processes for employee comfort.
- Preventing excessive heat from migrating and affecting other processes.
- Maintaining temperatures above certain levels in production areas to ensure process success.
In this blog post we will look at two heat containment applications and how curtain walls worked as an effective solution.
Application #1:
Customer has storage rooms with separate cells in them that must be heated to 170°F. The sliding curtain they had was not insulated and was ineffective. It also did not store well. They needed a more efficient curtain to contain the heat in the cell. An accordion-fold, insulated curtain wall from Zoneworks was installed and has been very effective at containing the heat within the cells.

Application #2:
Customer required a heated area in their facility to store drum barrels with a wax solution. Barrels were kept in a non-heated warehouse and had to be placed in ovens for approximately 48 hours before using. Heating the wax this way was expensive and time-consuming. A separate, heated area seemed to be a more efficient, cost-effective approach.
The customer was intrigued by the appearance and flexibility of the Zoneworks walls. He was also impressed by their easy, no-mess installation. They decided to go with insulated curtain walls, which they chose to install themselves in a two-sided floor-to-ceiling structure. The new area is saving them money. Their wax product is closer to the production area in a temperature controlled environment, and is now ready when needed.
